I wanted these since they first came out, but their original asking price of $60 put me off. When I saw them here for half that, I HAD to have them RIGHT AWAY.The sound is very good. They're not super clear, but I didn't "burn them in", and I haven't used them much yet, less than 24 hours of actual use. Despite what others have said, I get great bass out of my pair. The treble is great and leaves nothing else to be desired. Good midrange sound. They have a very full sound to them. They don't sound at all like itty bitty earbuds, but like earbuds with drivers twice as large. But, all that said, I'm no audiophile. I recommend the audiophile reviews found outside this place for that kind of info. What I really want to talk about is the fit, size, and comfort of these earbuds. A lot of people give mixed reviews, but not a lot of information on the matter, so I want to address that.Just as a side note: I've never had a problem wearing earbuds of any shape, size or fit. From the original iPod earbuds, to newer pairs of in-ear earbuds, going all the way back to the early 90s, when they had foam pads on them. Round, oval, triangular, big, small, hard, soft, metal, plastic. All shapes, all sizes. I've never found a pair of earbuds that didn't fit me just fine. I guess over the years, wearing them has formed my ears or stretched them, idk. But, I've been wearing earbuds since I was a kid, with no issue.Generally, I'm trying to include a lot of pictures, because I just didn't find a lot of them when I was researching. The earbuds are, all around, on the large side. I've got pics of them with my JVC HA-FX101 and JVC Gumy+ pairs for scale and reference. The body of the earbuds feels big in my ears. It's not uncomfortable, they don't feel insecure, but they take up that whole space in your outer ear. They have a secure and snug, comfortable fit in my outer ear. When I insert them, they don't go in very deep, due to the large body. Most other earbuds can be worked a tiny bit deeper into your ear for a more secure seal, these are not like that. They merely go in, and due to their all around large size, there's no working them in there deeper, or more tightly. The "nozzles", the part people have the most trouble with. The nozzles are definitely LARGE. Unlike with other in-ear earbuds, the sound driver is RIGHT THERE at the tip, actually the sound driver IS the tip, there's no actual nozzle. Most earbuds have it in the body, with the silicone tip extending out a few millimeters from the tip of the plastic nozzle. These have the sound driver right there at the edge of the silicone tip. There's maybe a millimeter of space there. The silver thing you see in the pictures, at the tip, IS the sound driver itself. They go directly INTO your ear. The sound drivers are 5.8 millimeters, according to JVC. Even the silicone tips seem stretched. The tips and nozzles feel noticeably large in my ear. If you have even a slight comfort problem with other in-ear buds on the inside of your ear, where the tip goes, like, if you use the small silicone tips, these probably aren't for you. The whole draw of these earbuds was that they had the driver right there in your ear, for direct sound. The earbuds are symmetrical in design. The right earbud is absolutely no different in shape from the left one, unlike most pairs in which the two sides have different buds which are mirror images of each other. They fit great nonetheless, but it's worthy of note. They come with little plastic over-the-ear loops, those suck. They're worthless crap. I didn't care, I wasn't using them anyways. Also, I'm not certain, but the silicone tips don't seem like the generic ones you get with every other pair of earbuds. Like, a store bought, or ordered, or random pair of earbud tips won't work with these earbuds. I've included a pic of two different tips, a generic one on the right, and the Black Series' tip on the left, both medium size. They're clearly different.Because the tip of the driver is in my ear, I clean my ears SUPER well, so as not to clog the drivers with earwax. I'm not saying you have to, but I feel like I do.
